WideStaff AI Engineer
About the role
As Staff AI Engineer, you'll set technical direction for our largest engagements — from agent architecture through production hardening. You'll work directly with client engineering teams and pair closely with our own engineers on the hardest system-design problems.
What you'll do
- Own the architecture of multi-step agent systems from design through production
- Set technical standards for retrieval, evaluation, and observability across projects
- Review system designs across the engineering team and unblock hard technical problems
- Partner directly with client engineering leadership on system strategy
What we're looking for
- 8+ years building production software, with recent hands-on LLM/agent systems work
- Deep experience with distributed systems and production-grade infrastructure
- Track record of owning systems from architecture through operation
- Comfortable communicating directly with client engineering leadership
Nice to have
- Experience with LangGraph or comparable agent orchestration frameworks
- Prior work building internal AI platforms or model gateways
